12 bombs rock Baghdad
At least a dozen explosions shook the Iraqi capital on Sunday, killing at least 40 people and wounding more than 160 others, CNN reported, citing police.
The attacks included eight car bombs and four roadside bombs. Most of the blasts were in Shiite areas, police said.
The deadliest was a car bomb in a central Baghdad square that killed six people and wounded 12 others.
In November, acts of terror and sectarian violence killed 659 Iraqis and injured almost 1,400, according to casualty figures released by the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq.
