ArmRosGazprom bankrupts Alishan cannery
There was an explosive situation at Alishan cannery because of ArmRosGazprom (ARG) Company acting contrary to safety rules, and an explosion was prevented only thanks to efforts of cannery employees, the plant’s owner Serzhik Mosesian said at a meeting with reporters today.
According to him, their problems wit ARG began 4-5 months ago. Mosesian said that ARG used a very high coefficient to calculate the volumes of consumed gas and charged an additional sum.
The cannery owner said their enterprise paid 3.6 million drams for consumed gas, but asked ARG to review that sum as it did not correspond to the consumption volume. In response, ARG cut off their gas supply on November 26. The management had to pay on December 9, but in order to conceal own mistakes, ARG increased the gas pressure from 40 to 300, which resulted in an explosive situation: there was a danger of explosion.
Mosesian said that the cannery has operated since 2003 and now employs about 300 people. In his words, unless the situation changes, he will have to close it and emigrate.
“I dropped everything and came to Armenia because we love this country, but now I have to close the plant and leave the country. I call upon the Armenian president and the prosecutor general’s office to solve this problem. I am convinced it will be solved,” the cannery owner said.
