Farmers markets operate in Yerevan on December 20-29
Farmers markets are operating in Yerevan on December 20-29, Deputy Agriculture Minister of Armenia Robert Makarian told Aysor.am.
Two such markets are operating ahead of the New Year in the capital city: one is located on Kasian Street and the other is in the vicinity of the Malibu Café. The deputy minister said that farmers have the opportunity to sell their produce directly to consumers and they were given booths and scales free of charge.
As of December 23, 39 agricultural fairs with the participation of 4,823 farms from 160 rural communities of Armenia were held in the market on Kasian Street. 35-40 tons of agricultural products are sold during a fair on average. A total of 1,420 tons of products has been sold.
