Armenia and Russia start liberalization of civil aviation services
Bilateral consultations between state bodies of Armenia and Russia over liberalization of services in civil aviation sector took place in Moscow on December 24.
A delegation headed by Deputy Economy Minister Garegin Melkonian flew to Moscow on December 23 in order to hold bilateral consultations with the Russian side, according to the press service of Armenian Ministry of Economy. Russian Transport Ministry hosted a consultation on December 24, during which the Russian side said that Russian airlines expressed interest in operating flights to Armenia. Following the consultation, a protocol was signed, under which there will be a higher-level liberal regime in civil aviation and air communications between the two countries, which will allow carriers to expand the range of their services.
Thus talks with foreign governments as part of the open sky policy have already begun.
