Temperatures to rise in January, meteorologists say
Despite the current extreme cold, temperatures in Yerevan will rise in January and February and even be 1-2 degrees higher than normal, meteorologists say. Fog will continue through the end of the week.
The head of the weather forecast unit of Armhydromet Service Zaruhi Petrosian told ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily that much lower temperatures than minus 14 degrees were recorded in Yerevan. On December 28, 2002, the mercury plummeted to minus 28 in the capital city. As regards fog, 90 days were foggy in Yerevan in the winter of 1953.
