Haykakan Zhamanak: Food prices go up 100-500 drams
Traditional price hikes ahead of the New Year started yesterday in food stores and markets of Yerevan. Prices of virtually all basic foodstuffs went up 100-500 drams, ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ writes.
“Today the main subject of conversations of our compatriots while shopping is for example, how one can buy a bundle of celery for 400-500 drams … Shoppers complain, but buy… Everyone says: “And these people are complaining that they have no money, while goods sell like hotcakes”. There are still loans, credits and remittances,” the paper notes.
