V. Petrosian’s lawyer reveals connection between judge and investigator

“After I familiarized myself with the court decision to use arrest as a measure of restraint for actor Vardan Petrosian, it became clear that the investigator’s petition and the decision of the judge coincide,” Vardan Petrosian’s lawyer, Nikolai Baghdasarian, told the correspondent of Pastinfo news agency.

In the lawyer’s words, in the declaration of the court decision, the judge reiterated “the investigator’s baseless argument that if a person is charged with causing an injury of medium severity, he/she may flee from prosecution so that person should be taken into custody. A similar argument was copied in the decision’s declaration.”

According to the lawyer, the investigator and the judge wrote a text of similar contents, they even made the same spelling and punctuation mistakes.

“It means that before the trial the judge met with the prosecutor personally or through intermediaries and received from him an electronic petition and retyped it in the declaration and descriptive part of his decision,” Vardan Petrosian’s lawyer explained. “In other words, the outcome of the case was predetermined before the trial,” the lawyer said in conclusion.
