Haykakan Zhamanak: Raffi Hovannisian may quit Heritage Party
“After the last presidential elections the leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian seems to be all on wires: he flies to the U.S. at one moment and returns to Armenia at another, but he is not involved in domestic political processes anymore. Heritage leader has serious financial problems. By his decision, the four-story building of the Armenian Center for National and International Studies (ACNIS) was put up for sale for $1.5 million. The center director Manvel Sargsyan advized us yesterday to verify the information from Hovannisian himself,” ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily writes.
“Things in the party are not going swimmingly either. There are rumors that Raffi Hovanissia will quit Heritage and Armen Martirosian will lead the party. Political rehabilitation will be difficult, not to say impossible for Raffi Hovannisian,” the paper says.
