Platoon commander detained over conscript beating
A third man - a platoon commander Lieutenant Hrach Mnatsakanian has been detained on suspicion of having beaten conscript Mher Khlghatian, Aysor.am was informed by senior officer of Armenian Defense Ministry’s Investigation Service Mary Sargsyan.
Hrach Mnatsakanian was arrested on suspicion of committing a crime covered by article 358 part 1 point 3 of the Criminal Code – battery or use of violence committed by a group of persons against a subordinate in a military unit or other duty station.
The head of the medical service of the same military unit Captain Arman Tadevosian and Junior Sergeant Vahe Ohanian were earlier detained on suspicion of beating conscript Mher Khlghatian.
We would remind you that in connection with Mher Khlghatian’s beating, a criminal case was opened under Article 376 part 2 of the Criminal Code.
