Movsisian: Commercial pilots’ training is aviation priority
The head of Armenia’s Main Civil Aviation Department Artyom Movsisian presented the 2014 priorities for aviation at a meeting with journalists today.
He indicated four major priorities in aviation sector. “First of all, residents of houses and dormitories in the area of Zvartnots International Airport should be provided with new apartments, as a result of which the housing problem of 176 families will be solved,” Movsisian said, noting that $4 million was allocated for this purpose and families are expected to move in the summer.
According to the department head, the second priority is training of commercial pilots in Armenia. 14 commercial pilots will receive licenses soon.
The next priority is granting of operating licenses to organizations that provide aeronautical services. Audits will be conducted in this sphere, Movsisian said.
The fourth priority is bringing flight operation standards into line with international standards, which will allow Armenian carriers to operate flights to EU countries.
