Blast hits Hezbollah heartland in Beirut - media
An explosion hit Hezbollah's southern Beirut bastion on Tuesday, the Lebanese Shiite movement's television channel Al-Manar said, according to the Voice of Russia. The blast took place on a busy commercial street that was targeted by a deadly suicide car bombing in early January.
An AFP photographer near the scene reported a plume of smoke rising over the densely populated neighbourhood.
The blast came less than an hour after Hamas said it will 'preserve truce' after rocket fire.
The Islamist Hamas group ruling the Gaza Strip said on Tuesday it has deployed forces to "preserve the truce" after rockets fired from the enclave hit Israel.
