Hraparak: Constitutional referendum to be held in 2017
The referendum on constitutional reforms in Armenia will be held in 2017 in parallel with the parliamentary elections, ‘Hraparak’ paper says. According to some sources, the government system will not change in the country: there will be no shift to a parliamentary system, but the government institution will be strengthened.
With the aim of implementing constitutional reforms, several committees will be set up at the Armenian government. The order of the formation of security and law-enforcement agencies and the appointment of foreign minister will be reviewed. All this is currently within the competence of Armenian president.
