G. Sahakian proposes changing counting commission formation order
At the parliament sitting today the head of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction Galust Sahakian proposed changing the current order of the formation of the parliament’s counting commission. This sparked a heated debate.
G. Sahakian proposed that the commission should consist of 11 members, 5 of whom should be HHK members, two from Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction, while ARFD, Armenian National Congress (HAK), Orinats Yerkir, and Heritage factions should each have one member in the commission.
The non-pro-government factions objected to the proposal.
Under the current rules, the counting commission consists of 7 members, including two HHK members and one representative from each of the other factions.
Orinats Yerkir faction proposed taking a 20-minute break to discuss the issue.
