Deputies propose examining gas debt issue
49 deputies of the Armenian parliament submitted a proposal to the speaker to set up a multi-party commission to examine the issue of the debt accumulated for Russian natural gas deliveries.
Deputy of Armenian National Congress (HAK) faction Aram Manukian said the commission will examine the reason for the 300 million debt’s accumulation.
“The debt was concealed from the public. Neither the public nor the parliament was informed about it for many years. New agreements were signed, but all this was kept secret,’ Manukain noted.
According to him, the gas price was raised five times in the past few years, but the public was informed about that only twice.
