Parliament votes for new counting commission formation rules
During the vote today, the parliamentary majority adopted the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction head Galust Sahakian’s proposal on the order of the formation of an interim counting commission.
The four non-coalition factions of the Armenian parliament did not vote. They also announced that they will not take part in the commission’s work.
The parliament speaker Hovik Abrahamian said these factions want to hamper the work of the parliament.
G. Sahakian earlier proposed that the commission should consist of 11 members, 5 of whom should be HHK members, two from Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) faction, while ARFD, Armenian National Congress (HAK), Orinats Yerkir, and Heritage factions should each have one member in the commission.
Until now the counting commission consisted of 7 members, including two HHK members and one representative from each of the other factions.
