Haykakan Zhamanak: Installation of cameras underway in parliament
The installation of surveillance cameras started in the Armenian parliament yesterday, ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily says.
According to the daily, two cameras were installed above the office door of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) faction, another camera – in the corridor leading to the door of the HHK faction’s office, and yet another camera was installed in the corridor section leading to the office of ARF-Dashnaktsutyun faction. In the afternoon work began on the floor where the offices of Orinats Yerkir and Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) factions are located.
“It is still not clear why the heads of the National Assembly decided to install cameras in the parliament corridors and how much it is going to cost. An office manager of the Chief of the National Assembly Staff Gurgen Dumanian tried to understand what kind of question we wanted to ask Dumanian and she did not let us enter his office, noting that he was holding a meeting. Gurgen Dumanian did not answer phone calls either. It should be mentioned that earlier there were rumors in the parliament that bugs would be installed everywhere,” the paper writes.
