Deputy prime minister holds consultation in Vayots Dzor province
Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgian held a consultation in Vayots Dzor province today. The work done in the province last year and the programs for 2014 were discussed at the consultation, in which Governor Edgar Ghazarian, heads of communities, officials of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and the regional administrations took part.
It was stated that 36 of the 47 measures envisaged by the 2013 regional development program were implemented and the implementation of 7 measures is underway. 7 billion drams was invested in the province in 2013: 3.8 billion drams was allocated for infrastructure development, 2.2 billion drams – to the social sphere, 613 million drams to SMEs and the private sector, and 126 million drams to agriculture.
The revenue collection target in Vayots Dzor was achieved by 101% in 2013, with revenues growing by 17.3% or 194.4 million drams compared with 2012.
After the consultation, the deputy prime minister, accompanied by the governor and Director of Armenia’s National Archive A. Virabian, visited the regional branch of the National Archive and familiarized himself with the working conditions. It was mentioned that the working conditions are not satisfactory. Armen Gevorgian and the officials discussed the possibility of allocating additional premises for the regional archive branch.
