Haykakan Zhamanak: Prime minister has no intention of resigning
Rumors persist in well-informed circles of the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) that following the latest developments related to the notorious ‘offshore scandal’, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan will resign soon, according to ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily.
When asked yesterday if these rumors correspond to reality, the prime minister’s spokesman Harutyun Berberian told the daily: “No. The prime minister himself wants the truth to be revealed. He hopes that the situation will become clear to the public following the recent arrest”.
‘The ruling HHK stated until recently that the replacement of the prime minister is not on the agenda. Nevertheless, after the major person of the offshore scandal, businessman Ashot Sukiasian was arrested, rumors about the prime minister’s resignation have resumed,” the paper notes.
