NSS gives details about espionage suspect

Armenian National Security Service (NSS) released a statement on February 5, 2014 that Armenian citizen Khachik Martirosian was arrested on espionage charges.

Azerbaijan’s National Security Service refuted through the country’s mass media the information that K. Martirosian is connected with Azerbaijani secret services. Azerbaijani NSS said it does not know such a person.

Unlike the respective services of Azerbaijan that are capable of presenting 77-year-old resident of Armenian border village Mamikon Khojoyan who suffers from a mental illness as an ‘Armenian saboteur’ in order to stage a ‘show’, Armenian National Security Service builds its work on facts, which will also be presented in the Khachik Martirosian case, Armenian NSS said, adding that “the reasons for the Azerbaijani side’s panic are clear to us and we propose waiting for the trial”.
