Charges brought against suspects in Arthur Safarian murder
More charges have been brought against two men – Israyel Sargsyan and Tigran Asatrian arrested in connection with the murder of 41-year-old Arthur Safarian, the brother of a crime lord nicknamed Tevosik.
According to the Armenian police, Israyel Sargsyan was charged under the Criminal Code’s Article 38 part 2 point 8 (as organizer of the crime), Article 104 part 2 point 8 (a crime committed for mercenary motives), Article 104 part 2 point 11 (a crime committed to conceal another crime) and Article 235 part 1(illegal purchase, possession and carrying of firearms).
Tigran Asatrian was charged under the criminal Code’s Article 235 part 1 (illegal purchase, possession and carrying of firearms and ammunition) and Article 335 part 1 (failure to report a grave crime).
Both men were taken into police custody.
