Cinema Star Dalma Garden declines to screen Nymphomaniac

Cinema Star Dalma Garden cinema has made a decision not to screen the long-awaited Nymphomaniac directed by Lars von Trier. The drama film’s premiere was scheduled for February 13 - on the same day as its world premiere. The decision not to screen Nymphomaniac was taken due to numerous objections of some citizens and NGOs that expressed doubt about expediency of the film’s screening in an Armenian cinema.

“Cinema Star Dalma Garden is the first and only cinema in Armenia that shows a qualitatively new approach to the domestic entertainment industry – it screens movies simultaneously with their world premieres.

Since its opening in 2013, Cinema Star Dalma Garden has become a ‘family spot’ and a popular recreation center of Yerevan residents. Taking this into account, we have decided to avoid a situation when a film’s screening may cause conflicting emotions of the audience.

Cinema Star Dalma Garden remains committed to its policy and will continue to delight Armenian viewers with novelties of world cinema simultaneously with their European and world premieres,” the press service of the cinema said.
