Culture minister meets with company of Opera and Ballet Theatre

Armenian Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosian met today with the Spendiarian Opera and Ballet Theatre’s staff who joined the protests against the introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia, Aysor.am learned from the press service of Culture Ministry.

According to the source, during the meeting the theatre employees raised their problems. The minister asked them to wait a little until all the problems are dealt with. The press service of the ministry promised to give other details of the meeting later.

We would remind you that the creative staff of the Spendiarian Theatre went on strike, due to which ‘Anush’ opera was cancelled. They staged a protest against the new accumulative pension system, demanding a salary increase. They also demanded that pension deductions should not be made from their salaries.
