Armenian president: Azerbaijan tries to burn all bridges of peace
Armenia is in the conditions of neither peace nor war now, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said at the 10th congress of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union.
“The enemy who was defeated in the real war, in other words, the Azerbaijani authorities are trying to create an impression among their own people that the struggle for Artsakh allegedly continues. In reality, the actions they take on the border have nothing to do with a struggle. These are ordinary murders. Armenophobia is identified with patriotism in Azerbaijan today,” S. Sargsyan said.
“Such patriotism has no place among us. I should say that such actions on the border were conditioned by many black days in Azerbaijan in January and February. Azerbaijan blames everyone, the whole world, the Armenians for these black days, but it never blames itself,” the Armenian president noted.
In his words, all these steps pursue an important and very dangerous goal.
“They are thus trying to burn all the bridges of peace. They want to make the two peoples never say hello to each other,” S. Sargsyan said.
Addressing the congress participants, Serch Sargsyan thanked them for their contribution to the establishment of the army.
“Our 20-year old guys stand guard on the border today just as you did at the time. And don’t be offended, they do it even better than we,” S. Sargsyan said.
