G. Makarian: Inflation will be curbed artificially
It will become clear in May and June prices of which goods will rise or fall as a result of Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union, chairman of the Union of Armenian Employers Gagik Makarian said at a meeting with reporters today.
In his words, nothing has been said about competitiveness and the quality of goods to be imported into Armenia. However, Makarian expressed an opinion that low-quality goods will be imported into Armenia.
As regards inflation after the entry into the Customs Union, Makarian said it will be artificially curbed.
The Customs Union resembles the Soviet Union in its model, but how much Armenia needs it is another matter, G. Makarian said.
