Opera Theatre director resigned not because of accumulative pension
‘Hraparak’ paper addresses the recent resignation of the director of Spendiarian Opera and Ballet Theatre Kamo Hovhannisian at his own request and the appointment of deputy director Hrach Grigorian as acting director.
An employee of the opera theatre told the paper that the problem lay not in the new accumulative pension system, but in low salaries which were raised in January, but the staff was informed about that only after staging a protest.
As regards the likely candidates for the post of director, the interlocutor said that they have always been rumors that Culture Minister Hasmik Poghosian keeps that post for herself, but she is still minister, so a person, who is easy to control and can be dismissed at any time because of age, may be appointed as director.
