S. Sargsyan attends opening ceremony of Pan-Armenian Winter Games

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan attended the opening ceremony of the First Pan-Armenian Winter Games in Tsakhkadzor.

The president welcomed the participants and guests of the First Pan-Armenian Winter Games. He stated that the number of participant sportsmen and countries has increased in the 15-year history of the Pan-Armenian Games, which shows that the Pan-Armenian Games are in demand.

According to the presidential press service, Serzh Sargsyan thanked all those who initiated the Games and spared no efforts in the past 15 years to ensure success of the Games. The president stressed that today one can say with certainty that the Pan-Armenian Games are successful.

‘The Pan-Armenian Games are important for us: it is obvious that these games strengthen Armenia-Diaspora ties and give the opportunity to thousands of Armenian youths following a healthy lifestyle to get acquainted with each other, and this circumstance is extremely important in the present-day world,” Serzh Sargsyan stated, wishing the participants fair competition, an intense struggle and sports achievements. He declared the First Pan-Armenian Winter Games open.
