Kostanian: Political speculation in Araratcement case ruled out
Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanian ruled out the possibility of political speculation in connection with Araratcement Plant’s case.
“No criminal case was opened in connection wit the suspension of Araratcement Plant’s water supply. Checks by Nature Protection Ministry revealed violations related to water intake in Ararat Valley. Two criminal cases were opened – in Ararat and Armavir provinces respectively,” Kostanian said, noting that checks are also conducted in other companies using water in their economic activities.
When asked if there is a political connotation concerning Gagik Tsarukian in this case in connection with the suspension of the enterprise’s water supply, Gevorg Kostanian said that he already explained why the water supply had been cut off. In his words, if investigative actions are carried out at one enterprise but they are not carried out at another, this can be conditioned by possible political speculation, which is unacceptable.
