Armenian police chief receives OSCE Yerevan Office head
Chief of the Armenian Police Vladimir Gasparian received today a delegation led by the Head of the OSCE Office in Yerevan, Ambassador Andrei Sorokin.
The 2014 program of cooperation between the OSCE Office in Yerevan and the police was presented at the meeting. A. Sorokin said that he attaches importance to cooperation with the Armenian police and expressed willingness to strengthen relations, according to the press service of the police.
Speaking about police reforms, V. Gasparian said the transition stage is already over and the police are committed to the work principles adopted and continue to implement a large-scale program of reforms. He underlined the importance of changes in the moral and psychological image of police employees and transparency of their work, which is a guarantee of reducing corruption risks.
For his part, Andrei Sorokin expressed satisfaction with the measures taken by the police and assured the police chief of his readiness to provide assistance.
