Armavia employees concerned over Baghadasarov’s departure
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily says that according to employees of the Armavia airline that suspended its operations last year, the airline’s owner Mikhail Baghdasarov has left Armenia for ever. Employees say that Armavia owes them large sums: the airline’s debt to each pilot amounts to 6-20 million drams, debt to each flight attendant is about 2 million drams.
The employees told the newspaper that last December Baghdasarov sold two airplanes, but did not use that sum to pay their wage arrears. They also learned recently that Armavia’s head office was vacated. Based on this information, Armavia employees suspect that Baghdasarov will never return to Armenia. Yet Mika Limited owned by Baghdasarov refuted this information, saying that Mikhail Baghdasarov often travels to Moscow.
