Tigran Sargsyan receives Russian transport minister
Russian directs investments in the Armenian economy make up 40% of the total amount of foreign investments in Armenia, according to Maxim Sokolov, Russian Transport Minister, Co-chairman of the Russian-Armenian intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation.
“Additional $50 million will be invested in 1,820 Armenian-Russian joint ventures in Armenia. Direct Russian investments make up 40% of the total amount of foreign investments in the Armenian economy. I am glad that our dialog is developing dynamically, especially ahead of Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union, which is important for Armenia, Russia and all the member states of the Customs Union,” M. Sokolov said at the meeting with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan.
Maxim Sokolov attended the opening ceremony of an Armenian-Russian enterprise specializing in production of disposable medical tools, according to the press service of the Armenian government.
The prime minister said that Yerevan has implemented 97 measures under the roadmap for entry into the Customs Union, and the working groups reached an agreement on all the conceptual issues.
Tigran Sargsyan and Maxim Sokolov discussed and reconciled actions related to energy sector, migration, investment, and infrastructure.
“Your visit will give renewed impetus to all issues on the agenda of Armenian-Russian relations. The visit is a good opportunity to discuss ways of their implementation,” Tigran Sargsyan said.
