Raffi Hovannisian raised objections at meeting with Tsarukian
New details of the meeting between Raffi Hovannisian and Gagik Tsarukian have become known. It turns out that Hovannisian raised objections not only about the meeting venue, but also the format of meetings. Unlike members of the ARFD and Armenian National Congress (HAK), Heritage leader Raffi Hovannisian met with Tsarukian not in the office of Yerevan Brandy Company, but in his Arinj village house, called “a meeting in a private area”, so that the meeting would not be filmed – at Hovannisian’s request.
Sources of ‘Hraparak’ paper say that R. Hovannisian’s main proposal was to hold a meeting at the level of the four non-coalition parties’ leaders. The leader of Heritage explained that if he, Tsarukian, Ter-Petrosian and Hrant Margarian are at the forefront, this fact will increase the public’s trust and if necessary, they will threaten the authorities with ‘the street’. He also demanded that the issue of a complete change of power be raised at discussions. Naturally, the proposal was rejected by Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), which is a member of National Security Council. So suspicions among the four parties arose that Heritage might drop out of the game at some moment.
