Armenian NSS warns of false emails
The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia said that there have been cases of sending false emails to Armenian users. The emails were sent on behalf of Armenian state structures, including the NSS, for criminal purposes.
“According to these emails, the user can download and install software, which allegedly increases security but in reality contains viruses. In the absence of antivirus software, such harmful software poses a real danger and gives illegal access to data,” the NSS said in a statement.
Thanks to measures taken by the NSS of Armenia, cases of sending harmful emails have been stopped promptly.
According to the NSS, for security reasons the state structures do not send emails with such proposals. Such email messages are of a fake and dangerous nature so mail users should delete them.
