Two receive burns after Vanadzor man attempts self-immolation
Norayr Barseghian, 37-year-old resident of the city of Vanadzor in Lori province, his nephew Ararat, 21, and niece Mary, 17, were taken to Vanadzor hospital with burns.
According to preliminary information, following an argument the man poured gasoline over himself and tried to commit self-immolation. A fire broke out, in which his nephew and niece also received burns.
The correspondent of Aysor.am learned from the press service of the Armenian police that materials are being prepared for an investigation.
Ministry of Emergency Situations reported earlier that it received an alarm call at 2:31 am on March 21 about a fire on Sundukian Street in Vanadzor. A rescue crew was sent to the scene.
The fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of rescuer-firefighters. Furniture and a carpet of the living room were damaged. Three tenants of the house were hospitalized with burns.
Mary and Ararat Barseghians suffered second degree burns. They received treatment in the hospital and were released. Norayr Barseghian received third degree burns. He was transported to the Yerevan Burn Center. His condition is of medium gravity.
