Babayan: If premier proposes negotiations, he should come to square
In his speech during the rally held today by ‘I am against compulsory accumulative pension system’ initiative in Liberty Square of Yerevan, the deputy of Prosperous Armenia party (BHK) faction Vahan Babayan said that he came as an Armenian citizen, rather than a parliamentary deputy.
“The youth wing of BHK has joined us a short time ago. We have been at your side from the first day. It is time for the people to defend its rights,” Babayan said.
“Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan says he is prepared to conduct negotiations. He should come here and see so many people gathered in the square. He will realize that the people are united. I was in border villages yesterday. Residents of those villages ask Yerevan residents to take to the streets. I call upon you once again to join this movement,” BHK deputy stated.
According to him, the compulsory component is not the only problem worrying Armenian citizens.
It is noteworthy that among those present in Liberty Square are residents of seven villages in Aragatsotn province who protested against the construction of a hydropower plant.
