CC to continue examining Law on Accumulative Pensions on March 31
The Constitutional Court of Armenia (CC) finished the examination of the case about the constitutionality of several provisions of the Law on Accumulative Pensions. The CC Chairman Gagik Harutyunain proposed adjourning the proceedings until 10:00 am March 31.
“The court shall examine the explanations provided by the sides. So I propose resuming the case examination on Monday. We will immediately try to hear the positions of the representatives of the government and the Central Bank of Armenia and then the sides will have to prepare their closing arguments. The court will then go into the consultation room to take a decision,” Gagik Harutyunian said.
As was reported earlier, the four non-coalition factions of the parliament – ARFD, Prosperous Armenia Party, Armenian National Congress, and Heritage factions - filed a lawsuit to challenge the constitutionality of several provisions of the Law on Accumulative Pensions in connection with the introduction of the compulsory component of the accumulative pension system on January 1, 2014.
