President: 70% of CU entry roadmap measures already implemented
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent an address to the participants the second economic conference “Armenia-Customs Union: Opportunities and Challenges” held in Yerevan today. The conference was organized by the ruling Republican Party of Armenia.
The Deputy Chief of the Presidential Staff Vardan Aramian read the address which says that challenges on the path of integration processes have come to light and their overcoming depends on the efficiency of joint work and the high level of mutual understanding.
“This conference is held at the important stage in the process of Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union. A roadmap for entry exists today and the roadmap measures are being taken. Active cooperation with the Eurasian Economic Commission and the appropriate bodies of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus allow us to make progress on that road. Thanks to constructive cooperation, 70% of the obligations undertaken by Armenia under the roadmap have already been fulfilled,” the Armenian president’s message said.
According to Serzh Sargsyan, the next step is the signing of an international legal document that envisages Armenia’s direct participation in Eurasian integration processes.
