Constitutional Court’s decision to be made public on April 2
The decision of the Constitutional Court of Armenia (CC) about the constitutionality of several provisions of the Law on Accumulative Pensions will be made public on Wednesday, April 2, CC spokesman Hovhannes Papikian wrote on his Facebook page.
Papikian did not indicate the time of the court verdict announcement, noting that information about it will be released later.
The Constitutional Court yesterday held hearings on the Law on Accumulative Pensions, during which the sides presented their closing arguments.
CC spokesman H. Papikian said earlier that the court members went into the consultation room and there was no information about the verdict’s announcement.
The four non-coalition factions of the Armenian parliament – ARFD, Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), Armenian National Congress (HAK), and Heritage factions had filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the Law on Accumulative Pensions, in connection with the introduction of the compulsory component of the accumulative pension system on January 1, 2014. The examination of the case was finished yesterday.
