Group of Karabakh volunteers to head to Latakia
150 people from Nagorno Karabakh have responded to the appeal of Armenian parliamentary deputy, field commander and war veteran Vahan Badasian. They expressed an intention to go to the Armenian-populated town of Kesab in northwestern Syria and to Latakia where Kesab’s Armenian population was evacuated, Galatv.am reported.
Badasian told Galatv.am that due to financial problems the whole group of 150 members will not head to Latakia now, but a small group will go there within the next few days.
“You will soon learn their names and the date. People with combat experience have signed up. Our visit is going to be useful. Armenians should know that they are not alone,” he said.
