Japan creates magical pentagon-shaped oranges
If you saw these oranges on a tree, you might think you've slipped into a magical forest. Japan has created something that never has been done before, an orange that is in the perfect shape of a pentagon.
The oddly-shaped fruit was created by farmers in the Ehime Prefecture in Japan and they are called "Gokakukei Iyokan." The interesting fruit is a mix of mandarins and oranges and is occasionally referred to as a "Japanese Summer Orange." In the Japanese language, "gokakukei" is translated to mean "pentagon."
Farmers in Japan have been perfecting the pentagon shape for many years, and the work has paid off. The oranges are well on their way to becoming a big hit in Japan as around 300 of the magical citrus fruits are expected to go on sale during an upcoming festival.
