Zhoghovurd: NKR PM comments on Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation
The introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia is said to be one of the reasons why Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan resigned. When asked by ‘Zhoghovurd’ paper whether the system’s introduction in Artsakh will result in similar pressure, Prime Minister of Nagorno Karabakh Ara Harutyunian replied:
“First of all, I beg to differ – I don’t think that Tigran Sargsyan’s resignation was due only to pressure related to that law, although its impact cannot be ruled out completely. As regards the possibility of similar pressure in Artsakh, I consider it as grave because there are no prerequisites for it.” Ara Harutyunian added that following the Constitutional Court decision, some legislative amendments will be made in Artsakh as well. Speaking about the economy of Artsakh, the prime minister said that in the past six years annual GDP growth amounted to about 10%.
