Zhamanak: BHK stance has contradictions
Following the political consultations with President Serzh Sargsyan yesterday, deputy of Prosperous Armenia party (BHK) faction Vartan Oskanian said in an interview with Kentron TV channel that BHK leader Gagik Tsarukian is firmly against the constitutional reforms as it is urgent that economic reforms rather than constitutional ones be carried out now, ‘Zhamanak’ paper says.
The stance of BHK has some contradictions, according to the newspaper. “About two years ago BHK along with other opposition forces participated in discussions about the need to shift to a 100% proportional election system. The current package of constitutional reforms creates the opportunity to adopt such a system,” the paper writes.
