We have a very good party office and I’ll work in it: Serzh Sargsyan

Armenian President, Chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) Serzh Sargsyan commented yesterday, on April 11, on his recent statement to the effect that he would not run for president anymore, ‘Aravot’ newspaper says.

Let us remind you that at the meeting with members of the specialized commission on constitutional reforms, Serzh Sargsyan said: “Prior to the start of the stage of discussions, I, Serzh Sargsyan, officially state that I will never run for Armenian president again. If as a result of discussions, a path not corresponding with my wish – I mean the parliamentary form of government – is elected, I will not aspire to the post of prime minister as well”.

“My statement was quite clear. It is not necessary for anyone to serve as president several times. Perhaps another person will be more successful in this post, let another person try to serve, what’s the problem? Who said that I am the best and I should hold that post? You know many people who believed that they were the best, but their opinion is not enough. This is the reason, and that is all. I also said that HHK will continue to play a crucial role. We have a very good party office, which is not inferior to the presidential residence. I will work in this office,’ the Armenian president was quoted as saying by ‘Aravot’.
