Two Armenian residents blown up by mine
Two residents of Tavush province in Armenia were blown up today by a mine near Berdavan village. Rafik Mughdusian, a 56-year-old resident of Berdavan village, and Gabriel Babikian, a 49-year-old resident of Hakhtanak village, while gathering grass, went 200 meters into the mined area and were blown up by a mine, according to the press service of Armenian Defense Ministry.
Rafik Mughdusian died from injuries, Gabriel Babikian was hospitalized.
“Armenian Defense Ministry expresses its condolences to the family of Rafik Mughdusian. We urge residents of borderline villages to use caution during agricultural work and pay attention to signs warning of mined areas,” Defense Ministry said in a statement.
