Prime minister: We will support all those wishing to do business
Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamian held a consultation with the participation of heads of state government bodies and representatives of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen (Employers) of Armenia, the press office of the government reported.
The Armenian government’s further measures aimed at improving the business environment in the country were discussed with the businessmen at the meeting.
“I am sure that we have some good ideas to promote the economic development and progress of Armenia. Support of entrepreneurship will become our priority. Everyone should realize that the economy is a basis for the state’s development. There will be no unfair interference in business, no unfair obstacles. Everyone should realize that this field is free if they act within legal boundaries and no one will create obstacles. We will support all those wishing to do business,” the prime minister said before the discussion.
Chairman of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) Gagik Khachatrian said that SRC initiated and developed a number of packages of legislative amendments aimed at business development in Armenia. They relate to changes in the Customs Code of Armenia, e-trade regulation, introduction of an alternative institution of tax audits, a reduction in turnover tax paid by SMEs, and introduction of a horizontal monitoring system.
During an exchange of opinions, the businessmen approved of the amendments and expressed their readiness to discuss their details jointly with the government.
The prime minister thanked them and reaffirmed his readiness to discuss any constructive proposal.
