Teghut Company tries its best to minimize environment damage
The Teghut copper-molybdenum mine will be ready in coming months to supply ore to the flotation mill of the ore dressing and processing combine, Deputy Director General of Teghut Company Robert Derdzian told reporters today.
“We will start soon to mine ore by using the open-pit method. The construction of a road from the mine to the dressing mill is almost completed,” he said.
According to Derdzian, it is planned to work the Teghut mine in two stages. During the first stage about 240 million tons of rock will be transported, including 95 million tons of ore, while barren rock will make about 60%.
In his words, an important goal in exploiting the Teghut mine is to minimize damage to the environment. “We try our best to minimize that damage. State-of-the art technology is used,” he noted.
The company implements a tree planting program: 2 ha of forest is planted instead of one hectare to be felled.
