Criminal case opened over incident during ‘Harsnakar’ verdict announcement
In connection with the court incident that followed the announcement of the verdict on the Harsnakar case, a criminal case was opened under the Criminal Code’s Article 343 part 1 – contempt of court, a crime punishable by a fine in the amount of 100 to 300 minimum wages or an arrest of 1-2 months, Aysor.am was informed by Shahen Tonoyan, head of the press service of Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office.
No one has been charged yet as part of the criminal case, according to Tonoyan.
We would remind you that on March 25 the general jurisdiction court of Yerevan’s Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts announced its verdict on the ‘Harsnakar case’.
6 men – Garik Margarian, David Adamian, Arthur Babloyan, Arman Baghdasarian, Arman Khachatrian and Norayr Hayrapetian received 12 years in prison each and a fine of 100,000 drams.
There was a commotion in the courtroom after the verdict was announced. The defendants’ relatives started swearing at judges and reporters. Some of them were removed from the courtroom.
