Seyran Ohanyan takes personal control of investigation into soldier’s death
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan visited Sunday morning Tavush province where a conscript, Private Nerses Karapetyan died of a gunshot wound in a military unit of Ijevan.
The minister held a consultation at the Ijevan regional unit of the Military Police. During the consultation attended by heads of Defense Ministry’s Investigative Service and the Military Police, commanders of the military unit, and high-ranking officers, S. Ohanian was informed about all details of the incident and the preliminary investigation.
The minister took personal control of the whole investigation into the case, particularly of an internal inquiry. He instructed those present to regularly provide him with information and do their best to establish the truth and find the guilty.
Serviceman Nerses Karapetian died of a gunshot wound to the head on Saturday. He was wounded on his frontline position in a military unit located in the northeastern direction. The soldier died on the way to hospital.
