Chorrord Ishkhanutyun: Showdowns continue in Goris
According to ‘Chorrord Ishkhanutyun’ newspaper, internal disagreements in Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) again manifested themselves, this time in the city of Goris, Syunik province.
“In the upcoming elections of Goris mayor, HHK endorses Vachagan Adunts , a protégé of former Synuik governor Suren Khachatryan. Although the current governor of Syunik province Vahe Hakobyan who is also the head of HHK regional organization is aware of this fact, he is displeased with the candidate and decided to field his own candidate – Tigran Karapetyan who is manager of the Syunik governor’s numerous businesses,” the paper writes, noting that such conduct of Vahe Hakobyan caused tension in the regional unit of HHK. It is not ruled out that as a result of ‘showdowns’ Vahe Hakobyan will soon be forced to withdraw his candidate from the election race.
