Haykakan Zhamanak: Frost-hit farmers receive loans of 4bn AMD
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan visited on May 5 villages of Ararat province and promised frost-hit farmers that the payment terms of their loans will be extended.
Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) Arthur Javadyan told ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily that 3,500 farms hit by spring frosts already received loans of 4 billion drams and that the total amount of loans will reach 8.9 billion drams.
As regards the extension of payment terms, CBA chairman said the process has not begun yet.
“Javadyan explained that much time is needed to go again through the loan formalities, while farmers have already taken up new loans,” the paper.
