Haykakan Zhamanak: Finance ministry does not believe CBA forecasts
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ writes that Armenian Finance Ministry has some reservations about the monetary policy of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) for 2014 and these reservations will be presented at the government session today.
“Finance Ministry does not believe CBA forecasts about 5.8% economic growth. The ministry called this index optimistic. According to the ministry, CBA forecasts are overestimated by 1-1.5% so economic growth in 2014 will make 4.3-4.8% if CBA implements its monetary policy. Given this, Finance Ministry today will propose reviewing CBA’s monetary policy and take actions to promote economic growth, which will result in higher inflation,” the daily says.
